The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, launched the EDGE Student Design Competition, now in its third year, as an opportunity for students and recent graduates to exhibit their expertise in developing sustainable and cost-efficient building designs.
The objective of the competition was to get students and working professionals (i.e., architects, structural engineers, and building services engineers) to leverage the fundamentals of energy and resource efficiency measures in building design from a technical and commercial perspective contained in the Designing for Greater Efficiency (DfGE) course to design an affordable housing unit using passive measures that support the built environment’s move onto a low-carbon path.
Curate MKTG was tasked with planning, coordinating, and end-to-end execution of a cocktail at the World Bank Building to launch the 3rd edition of the competition. In attendance were Kyle Kelhofer, IFC Senior Country Manager for Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone; Hon. Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, Minister of Works and Housing; and Magdalena Wüst, Deputy Head of Cooperation Embassy of Switzerland to Ghana,
Benin, and Togo.
